History of our Location

Dr. A. Maas established one of the first drug stores in Neosho soon after the Civil War, locating at 110 E Spring Street. This drug store operated as Ben Einstein Drug Company until September 22, 1890, when he sold to Powers and Wills. Frank Akers established a drug store at that location 1897. In May of 1907 he sold the business to Dr. C.J. VanCleve and R.J. Caywood.

Oliver's Shoe Store was founded in 1922 by Joe A. and John Oliver. They were first located at the corner of Washington and Hickory Street but very shortly moved to 110 E Spring Street. They left in 1932, moving to Lafayette Street, and returned in 1952. John Oliver, Jr. joined the firm in 1938. After his death in 1989, the business was shut down. Browning Furniture was located at 110 E Spring Steet after Oliver's left in 1932. Taylor's Bookstore moved into this location in 1990.

In October of 2004, Jeff & Debbie Werneke purchased a building located on the north side of the Neosho historical downtown square.  After extensive renovation of the entry and interior of the main floor, Silhouette Imaging opened its door in April of 2005 providing specialty gifts and awards while continuing a proud tradition of history on Neosho's downtown square.  With advanced computer technology, a personal photo may be etched in wood, tile, glass, or a wide array of products that can be cherished for years to come.   Making your memories last a lifetime is our specialty at Silhouette Imaging.
